That's a brake van/crew van converted from one of the Italian-built refrigerator vans that were made redundant after the collapse of refrigerated traffic. I will post more information on these wagons in the next few days, assuming someone doesn't beat me to it.

I have taken some shots of a piece of 0.3mm Nickel Siler strip to dry run some of the platforms. Apart from the incorrect positions of the bogies, :( we also have other difficulties:

Ok then:
1. Pink lines indicate that the inner side of the platform would have to be drawn to take account the various moulded details of the wagon. POSSIBLE
2a. Blue lines indicate that a cut out in the middle of the platform is needed to accomodate the bulkhead when it is lowered in the flat position. That will considerably weaken the platform if the material used is thinner than 0.3mm. POSSIBLE
2b. Alternatively use 0.2mm metal which will make the steps look better but the platform more unstable. POSSIBLE.
3a. Yellow lines indicate the moulded detail of the bulkhead that will need to be filed off and removed. POSSIBLE
3b. Alternatively make an un prototypical cut out in the platform. POSSIBLE
4. Red lines are the biggest (and most visual) problem. Make two complete cut outs in the platform. This will change the platform from one solid piece to three separate ones. POSSIBLE
4a. Alternatively file off the bulkhead supports completely. You could also replace them with 2 short lengths of H section rod, plastic or metal. POSSIBLE.

I have already stated in the other topic viewtopic.php?f=13&t=153&start=10 that I would consider this project if there is enough interest. I have at present orders from Andy only. It would be nice to hear from others.
a, if they want some
b, some responses to the choices mentioned above.

I plan to extend the NEM coupler and make some run test to 50cm radius turns.
I'm also thinking if it would be a good idea to put the NEM holder on the boggies as seen on some older wagons, what do you think?
I'll let you know more as soon as there is some progress. Any ideas will be most welcomed :D

Hello everyone,
I recently received from France the ViTrains set 3309.
Starting to convert them into Greek, first of all, the bogies have to move to the right position.
I would like your opinion on two compromises that need to be made, to keep the NEM coupler in place fully operational on all radius turns.
First compromise, Wheel diameter:
Original 100 cm. 1/87 11.5mm. The model has 11.5mm. For the conversion must be replaced with RP25 10.6mm, without changing the height of the platform from the rail head.
Second Compromise, Distance between the bogie centres:
Original 14.60 m. 1/87 167.8mm. For the conversion must be 165.8mm.

This could work, if it looks right it is right...
Contrain, would you make a comparison photo, a wagon with the RP25 wheels and an original one head to head?
I suppose the difference of 0.45mm in height won't be noticeable

In the first tests using RP25 wheels from my stock with a diameter of 10.4 mm. (Normally 10.6 mm wheels will be used).
At trial run in closed curve ROCO R2, Turnouts (branch angle 15°) and double slip switch (crossing angle 15°) the NEM coupler behavior was perfect.
Tests are continuing ...
