Hi to all,
I have been away from posting anything for a while. A lot of stuff going on like house moving, vacation, building up my workbench and sorting all things have been taking a lot of time. Despite this I havent been idle.
I open this topic so that everybody can show us his scratch building....I find scratch building is fascinating a most rewarding...so no more talking...
Quick introduction. In December 2016 I bought a cutter-plotter from Silouhette, the Cameo 3. It has been used for a number of years from modelers to cut paper but also plastic. I will write in another post here about the merits and the drawbacks of such a machine. After some time of being idle with the Cameo I started a couple of weeks ago to test it and start some builds. My first one is an old SEK coach, Aφκ 51-55 built in 1904 . Probably it did not survive WWII. I find this coach fascinating with the railing and the balcony/gangway. Was is extreme is the railing. All modelers state as min. cut width 0,5mm for a line...I tried out 0,4mm and guess what! It worked. All the parts have been cut out and scored with the cutter except the strips on the sidewalls (0,5x0,25 & 0,75x0,25 mm) and the columns on the balcony which is 1mm rod. All from Evergreen.
Next step is to make the roof and the bogies all scratch built with the cutter.....more to come.
Cheers
Andreas
