These two photos were sent to me by Barry Ward. They are 3d prints of the Mitsubishi and they are sold together with etched metal detail parts to form a model in 009. The model is designed to run on a proprietary n gauge chassis. Interested people can purchase it from http://www.a1modelsuk.com/009%20Narrow%20Gauge-1 or Yiannis in Greece at http://www.erail.gr/index.php?lang=en

I really miss those bad boys.
My grandmother used to call them "The beast of Moreas" ( Το θηριο του Μορια) because of their look and their noice.
Please notice that the rails of the line Pirgos-Katakolo are about 4 meters from my cottage.
I can still feel the ground shaking.

Takis1980, It is always good to hear what nick names (paratsouklia) people used to give to all those wonderful railway engines. "Chests", "beasts", Gagarin and the like....

This is really interesting! I have some thought about the scale... if I get it right it is 1:76
I wonder if an exact 1:87 scale model could be printed from the same 3D plans? I think that's possible

Christo and friends, good morning,

I have not seen the 3D printing of this loco and now I can't find the model neither A1 models nor eRail.gr

Any help?

Regards

Hi All,

Just a tiny contribution from an old man... true, a bit late, but better late than never!!

Actually these locomotives were known in the ex-SPAP (ΔΠΠ) circles by what was not really a nickname but a mispronounced word: they were called the "Mitsi-Pitsi"...

Take care :D

More pictures from Flickr server, under 'Kurbelwelle', during summer in 1983 and 1986.

It's amazing how those 'shunting engines' (seems to be shunting loco) were making main services all around metric gauge network...too much for them!

I wish you'll enjoy them and make a better weekend
