The hottest day of the year here in Sussex today at 25.5 C. Well, I thought of giving 120007 a run but found out that traction was gone. Horror  something was wrong  . Three of the four axle gears were split and turning loose. So I bit the bullet and replaced them all with Ultrascale wheels. I am now much poorer £££ but much happier :D at bringing 120007 back to life.

Anyone else with the same problem?

During a batch of production from China, Electrotren's locos suffer from gear breakance. It was in a defined period of production.

They asume the breakance and by contacting them trough your dealer, no cost.

Thanks BalkanExpress. I tried my other three Hellesprinters and they all seem to be suffering from the same problem. I sent a message to my supplier Mr. Kalfakis and wait for his answer. But I am not holding my breath (English expression).

A very prompt reply from Mr.Kalfakis this morning, stating that he is not aware of the problem but he will get in touch with Electrotren to find out more.

The way I told you is how we operate in Spain under their indication.

If you don't get any other option, I can try from here. Please let me know

The wheels ARE suitable for DC. They are fine scale so the flanges are very tiny. I used the Nickel silver wheels and the quality is excellent. I never used the brass ones. They are direct drop fit into the Lima or the Electrotren sprinters.

I will order some for me next week, so if any wants some I can order for them too. Olympus pm if interested. Delivery takes ages.
