Hi Everyone,
Thanks, Pierre, for your contribution! it's interesting to see the 'poloneza' still carrying the original intercommunicators (which I had not noticed at that time, since all my attention was focused on the La or the Lg locomotive at the head of the trains...)
For the anecdote, those intercommunicators were usually referred to by the railwaymen as 'φυσούνες' (bellows, like those on old photo cameras), or 'φυσαρμόνικα' (harmonica), the latter term also used frequently to describe a car damaged in an accident...
Pierre, I have a slightly off-topic question for you, but you can reply offline: do you know the JZ numbers of these carriages?
FYI, I recall having seen in the '80s also a couchette version of these carriages(ΚΟΛΑ CO ΛΕΓΛΑ), registered in the Skopje district zone (ŽTO Skopje). They were sometimes part of the international trains to Athens, but usually they were replaced in Skopje by a Belgrade-based GOŠA Couchette carriage (KOLA SA LEŽAJIMA), the unfortunate uninformed passengers having to transfer all their luggage to the newer carriage during the stop at Skopje...
ATB,
Iossif
