What I meant was this car:

I thougt these two photos are showing the same car (but different from 1394) because you posted them after another (on the last two postings on page 3) with "as it is shown today" to the second photo. And: "CGC 1911 ore 1912" from older sources.
That one might be what I wroted above:

The information I had was: Built by CGC in 1911 or 1912. First of all, not many restaurant cars were built by CGC in that years, but three series in that time were built:

2127-2132, CGC 1911, out of that batch of cars No. 2129 stayed in Istanbul from 1947 on;
2199-2206, CGC 1912, to that batch of cars I hadn't no further information;
2403-2424, CGC 1913, out of that batch of cars the Numbers 2411 und 2417 stayed a period in Greece.

I now got information out of remaining lists which show the whereabouts of the cars after its withdrawal by wagons-lits. Only 2417 had a precise reference to greece:
"vendu 10/55 athénes", sold in October 1955 in Athenes. (Its reference date was May 5th, 1914, but the building plate may had shown 1913.)

I hope we can clear up this little confusion about the teak bodied Restaurants still existing (more ore less) in greece.

a while back I did some research on this WR and I found out the following. Its identity is not yet clear but it can be cut down to a few cars of CIWL.

It was originally CIWL WR 393, 394 or 395 built in by CGC St. Denis in 1894 and modernised in 1923 by Atelier Zossen (or Neu-Aubing) and got a new number as WR 1393, 1394 or 1395. Distance between bogie centers 10900mm, CIWL Plan 1:50 No 15110. The plate with the build year attached to it comes probably from a mix with WL 2122.

I hope it helps a little more or it makes things more complex...

Doen anybody have a drawing from both sides of the Type R sleeper that is in Greece (Amfikleia)? I had the wild idea of lasering the body in 0 gauge and I found somebody that mit do it for me...I just need to see how much he wants. The idea is more or less an aid in scratchbuilding as you will need to source bogies and build your own chassis.

Hi Christo,

yes that will be fine. Dirk might be able to help. The thing is in a very early stage. I hope it will be possible at a reasonable price. I have a drawing of the Type R but it is not the one in Amfiklia but from the 1st series, which has different window arrangement. If nothing will come up I will do the early type.
