This is an excellent idea that you propose.

However, as I see the model ALSTHOM from any view, its excellent. All of its details are very fine and exact, like the real thing. So, for me or others that apply the P87 - standards, it only needs:

- sprung-buffers - the correct type - U6 pour locomotives from AMF87, France,
- UIC - screw-couplings from WEIMANN, Germany, and
- P87 wheelsets of wheel-dia.: 1022mm = 11.747mm in HO, either from HOLGER GRAELER in Germany /and or from P87 STORES from ANDY REICHERT in California, U.S.A..

For anyone who wants to upgrade it by HOfine, it only needs:
- either sprung-buffers [tampon a ressort] / and or unsprung-buffers (tampon sec) - the correct type - U6 pour locomotives,
- screw couplings, either UIC-ones from WEIMANN / and or the ones that WEINERT produces,
- keep the same NEM - wheelsets / and or change to RP25 ones of wheel-dia.: 1022mm = 11.747mm in HO - either Code88 - FINE ones / and or Code110 thick ones (the latter mostly used by the N.M.R.A (National Model Railroad Accosiation)), from HOLGER GRAELER, Germany.

It is not a necessity. FREMO RE RP25 does not need that but it is advisible.

Not needed. FREMO RE RP 25 does not use them.

In my Alstohm I just reprofilled the wheels to RP-25 under a lathe. It is the most cost effective solution.

FREMO Finescale FYI is not so widespread like RE RP 25.

The truth is that I am happy with the results of the Alsthom. If I could sell this model for more, I would have done the bogies and the roof differently, but modelling is a compromise. I hope the last few Alsthom examples I have left, go to good homes

This is a rare opportunity for an Alsthom as a kit, since I only have one available. The photo shows what is included. The price including registered post is £180. There will also be one set of plates that will be included in the price of any number that the buyer chooses. Bogies and motor can be sourced by the buyer but if required I could provide the Bachmann ones but at a higher price. One draw back: There are no instructions just some photos.
