We are talking here about many Wagons and projects etc....but we forget THE most important and interesting Wagon in Greece....the one that is so characteristic!

Eaos-x

If there would be a model of that I would buy 10 of these for a block train.

Cheers

Good morning to all members

I've been talking to the spanish modellers that are making pieces and wagons by 3D impresion. I'll transcribe their answering:

3D impressions is now starting but it's amazing. It has opened a door to create pieces and models that we've never dreamed before.
What would we need?

1-Documentation. Fans have a big lack of documentation, mainly. There's not so much info about models we want to create.

a- We can start by getting detailed constructor plans so we can model pieces with desings programs in advance
b- real dimensions and pictures
c- A previous designed model

2- Previous Stages

Once we have the designed model, it's not just to print and it's all finished. We have to take in mind details and tricks that they have developed by making mistakes. For example, you can model a very fine detail but it will be weak and breakable.

Other things to have in mind it's the orientation in printing. Everybody that ask them, they answer the same: Printing has 6 faces: 2 bad ones, 2 regular ones and 2 good ones. It depends on how you put the model when printing, you will get better results

3- Processing
It's not the same to print one or a great batch. It's cheaper to print a numerous batch in the same tray.

Those are the basic points to start the productions. Once you solved, it's easy to start!

Here is when (under you kind permision, TEE 11.5, i think you don't mind if i show your 3D detaild you posted in order to get some info so we can all get some productive result!) I showed the 3D detail to get some real ideas.

They talk me about that:

In the 3D desing you showed us, for example, They can apreciate some initial problems. The abatilble heads over the buffers seems to be so thin. They propose to remove from 3D impression, but also handles, steps and use cast pieces.

So, they are waiting about our interest. Please, let me know if all you are interested in continuing talking with them.

In order to hace an initial idea, i'll ask them how much do that spanish platforms cost to produce.

Regards

Thanks Adelardo, all this was most informative :!:
Keep contact with our Spanish fellows, I'm sure we have more to learn
The cost is also important, so we are waiting for your feedback ;)

PS. this has not to do strictly with Panos' model, it's his project and he'll decide how to materialize it.
It has to do with our modeling knowledge and ''inspiration'' 8-)

Well, BarbaP, although I'll continue with conversations with my fellows, I'd like to hear Panos as well.

I don't want him to feel invaded in his modelling project but help him to let us enjoy a new greek model
