Pythion, late 90's-early 2K, when so many tourists were coming and going through the border!

Hello again,

I have difficulty in replying posts and making attachments for the moment. This passenger car I converted is a Roco 54427. I only spray painted blue colour and gray on the top, applied decals homemade. It is shorter than the actual TCDD prototype. Regards. Erim

Nice effort Eguraydin,

as my knowledge on the TCDD rolling stock is very limited, I'd like to place a couple questions

a) I think that blue/red paint scheme is an older one applied to many different coach types, as is the white with blue/red stripes nowadays, is that right?
b) about the blue/red Bm coach we see at the first posts of this topic, is there an HO commercial model that we could convert?

Hello Barbapanagos,

a) red/ blue colour scheme was used widespread. I am sure they are still being used in some secondary routes in Anatolia. Different versions I know other than couccehtte cars are, commuter passenger cars, restaurant cars and baggage/power cars. They were mainly used as regional trains. There is also a black/red version for the night trains.

b) This is a hard question. I did not search for the exact version since I need shorter passenger cars for my new shorter layout. But probably you could find in ACME (ıtalian supplier) series since they produce nearly exact TCDD trains for the limited Turkish enthusiasts. Most of the models in the market (especially eastern Europeans) do not match since most of them have round ceilings ( TCDD have flat ceilings), for the older versions life is more difficult since the doors of the prototypes were inverted in the body.

thanks for the reply Eguraydin,

If you could give us some info about the specific type, built, refurbishments etc, maybe somebody else be able to spot other railroads that use(d) similar coaches

about the blue/red Bm coach we see at the first posts of this topic, is there an HO commercial model that we could convert?

This picture taken in the 80s when these cars came even to Germany shows a TCDD Bm in blue livery:

In my opinion, it is possible that ACME could realize this type too, but less probably in the blue/red version of 90s-early2k. They made the couchette and the sleeping car, in painting scheme of the 80s when these cars also came to Germany, and they made the special edition in the up-to-date white livery with red and blue stripes.
All the best,
Stefan

Good morning to all my friends.

Back to Spain and some peacefull time in frontof the computer, let's start with the trip to Nuremberg, news and pictures of everything related with this forum.

Talking about the TCDD railways, it was possible to find a TCDD WLABm couchettes coach, as special edition in a turkish exhibitor of miniature facilities for decoration (curious one, such as a hopper for ballasting the tracks, manually operated points system, etc.)

This car, under ACME run, number 90044, is the same WLABm coach that the one in the set of 3 they have sold before, now sold out, so they decided to produce an extra one, but with same numbering. Limited edition.

Of course, Nuremberg's fair does not allow to sell items during fair, but you can buy some of them...you know. I brought one with me, to give some 'modern colour' to my international balkan trains. I think it's enough for me with one sleeping car.
