Dimitrios Kostopoulos - ROLLING-STOCK + LOCOMOTIVES BY P87 STANDARDS

Re: Dimitrios Kostopoulos - ROLLING-STOCK + LOCOMOTIVES BY P87 STANDARDS

Postby Dimitris » Tue Dec 31, 2013 12:29 am

Hello.

I present my PROTO: 87 module, that I have constructed on December 2009 / January 2010. It consists the following:

1./ The infrastructure is made by blue "dow" plastic. However, I need to built the embankment with grass (πρανή με φυτικές γαίες - in greek) by the same material.
2./ The superstructure of tracks with track-parts by BAHNSINN, consists the following:
a./ Ballast form german company "NOCH" in HO size, about 0,02mm. However, the best is from ASOA (http://www.asoa.de). The ballast has "shoulders" (/"μπαγκίνα" in greek)
b./ Laser-cut wooden sleepers (gelaserte Holzschwelle) with distance between sleepers: 650mm in prototype. The sleepers cover a lenght of 30m in prototype (Gleisjoch) = 344,82mm exactly in HO.
c./ Fastenings + rail-plates (Oberbauen + Rippenplatte / Rp) out of cast brass. The fastenings used are the "K"- type (Klemmplatte) of the ex- east and west german federal railways (DB/DR Reichsbahnoberbau). In single-sleepers the Rp16 with one "K" is used, and in double sleepers (where the rails connected / Schienenstoß), the Rp18 with 2 "K"s. I present an example of Rp18 on a double inside slip (D.K.W. / Doppelte Kreuzungs Weiche mit innenliegenden Zungen) in BDZ (Bulgarian State Railways).
Image
d./ Rails Code70 (nickel-silver) presenting exactly the rail-prototype-profil: S49 (49,43kgrs/m) before 1960s. Epoche III. Rails must be CUT and FILED in 344,82mm, such as to cover the length of the sleepers.
The rails are soldered with fishplates (Laschen) out of etched nickel-silver from inner-side of the rails. Then drilled with 0,4mm-holls for 0,4mm-bolts to pass through. The latter are soldered as well, and the excess is cut from the outer-side of the rail. Finally, the fishplates with square bolt-heads out of etched nickel-silver are soldered from the outer side (where the excess of the bolts is removed), and the rails are connected as the prototype. It is very difficult during construction, but I have enjoyed it. The length of the module is 90m in prototype = 1034,483mm in HO, cosnsists of 3 x 30m -track-lengths in prototype = 3 x 344,82mm in HO.
The fastenings of this tracks, where used in GREECE before 1960s not only in OSE (ΟΣΕ), but also in ISAP (ΗΣΑΠ), specially the part where the rails are connected (Schienenstoß). Now, the may be seen in some old abandoned tracks, with either steel /and or wooden sleepers, and in some cases on open Line with concrete sleepers. Nevertheless, the rail-lengths are according to the german standard (15m, 30m, 60m), though the fastenings are exactly to the greek standard. The Greek Standard follow the french-system of 18m and 36m - rail-lengths.

a little before the railway station of Katerini, April 2002. Wooden sleepers of type "AZOBE" (Wood from tropical islands / hard) with "K" fastenings (Reichsbahnoberbau) of the ex-DB/DR (German Federal Railways / German East Railways / Deutsche Bundesbahn / Deutsche Reichsbahn).

PULLING-SYSTEMS / LOCOMOTIVES:

Electric locomotives / H/A:
LIMA HO (I have that from 1991 - I won't buy another one):
DB (ex - Deutsche Bundesbahn), Baureihe: 120.0 (KRUPP / KRAUSS MAFFEI), 1979-80, Achsfolge; Bo-Bo, rot-beige, 15kV 16,7Hz Wechelstrom (A.C.)http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/DB-Baureihe_120 - THIS IS OPERATIONAL BUT NEEDS THE FOLLOWING:HANDMADE BUFFERPLANKS + P87 - WHEELSETS + D.C.C. + Sound-decoder with modification to digital from analogue. Proposed system ESU. It has also handmade handrails from 0,3mm (small ones ) and 0,5mm (on the doors - each side) steel wire (WEINERT) on the body-shell. It also needs pantographs (Stromabnehmer)... I probably ask LEMATEC from old LEMACO DB models HO, i.e. DB BR103, that are exactly the same to the prototype and operational. They have some spare parts. I won't use the SOMERFELD ones, as they don't look exactly to the prototype.

Diesel locomotives / Δ/Α:
ΑΤΗEARN HO (I bought this from a railway exhibition - second-hand in Derby, UK in 2004 - I won't buy another one):
UNION PACIFIC, Baureihe: DASH-9 44CW, 4400HP (Pferdesterke / PS), G.E. / General Electric, 1993, Achsfolge: Co-Co, gelb mit grauem Fahrgestell, http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/GE_Dash_9 - THIS IS ALREADY P87, BUT DUE TO THAT THE COUPLING IS MUCH LESS IN LEVEL FRO STANDRARD LEVEL, THE WHOLE CHASSIS WILL BE CHANGED WITH A NEW RTR DIE-CAST CHASSIS FROM OVERLAND MODELS / OMI WITH BRASS SPRUNG BOGIES + CHANGE OF THE ANALOGUE CONNECTIONS TO DIGITAL FOR INSTALLING DCC + SOUND-DECODER. Proposed system ESU / and or DIGITRAX. Also, the existing RP25 Code 110 of the NEW chassis, will be changed with a gear-puller to NEW P87 ones with exact sizes 42''(1066,8mm = 12,262mm in HO). The existing P87 wheels on the old chassis have the same exact specifications - 42''(1066,8mm = 12,262mm in HO), when I changed them in 2010 from the old RP25 Code110. It has also cast brass MU - hoses from OMI / Overland Models, and some handmade 0,3mm brass handrails that were missing from the body-shell. Also, the existing-body-shell must have a modification so that it can bolted to the NEW OMI chassis, as the latter has halls to bolt it on.

MÄRKLIN HO I have this from 1985 - I won't buy another one):
SOUTHERN PACIFIC, Baureihe: F7, 1500HP (Pferdesterke / PS), E.M.D. (Electro Motive Division / G.M. / General Motors), Achsfolge: Bo-Bo, schwarz, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EMD_F7 -THIS WAS DUMMY, SO THE CHASSIS CANNOT BE CHANGED WITH AN OVERLAND MODELS / OMI ONE, BECAUSE THE MOTOR WITH THE FLYWHEELS CANOOT FIT DUE TO THE EXISTING PART THAT BOLTS THE OLD CHASSIS AND THE BODY-SHELL. i WILL THINK ABOUT THAT...BECAUSE THE COMPANY THAT CREATED INDEPEDENT SPRUNG P87 BOGIES WITH MOTORS WITH FLYWHEELS CLOSED. HOWEVER, THE CHASSIS IS MODEFIED FOR INSTALLING P87 "BUCK-EYE" - AUTOMATIC COUPLINGS.

BALKAN MODELS HO:
ΟΣΕ/CH, Baureihe: MX627, 2700HP (Pferdesterke / PS), M.L.W., Achsfolge: Co-Co -It comes in September 2014 :D :D :D...

Thanx

Just an update to:
1./ DB (ex - Deutsche Bundesbahn), Epoche IΙΙ, Bauart: WRmüh62, Speisewagen TEE/RHEINGOLD, D.S.G. (Deutsche Shlafwagen & Speisewagen Gesellschaft), blau-beige, bogies MINDEN/DEUTZ with double generators (Klotzbremse)- one short and one STANDARD long - READY IN P87 WHEELSETS AND BOGIES (FROM ALPHA-TRAINS) BUT MODIFIED, BUT ALSO NEEDS HANDMADE BUFFERPLANKS AND THEIR OPERATIONAL PARTS, CONNECTIONS OF THE EXISTING-PARTS OF THE BRAKE-SYSTEM + INTERIOR LIGHTING.

Image
Explanation:
- Orange arrows: buffer-backs / Spannplatte out of cast-brass of the type "Verdigen"
Image
http://www.wagenwerk.de/h0de/fahrzeugba ... ingen.html
- Blue arrows: continuence either side of the coupling-pocket / Kupplungsflansch by 2 0,3mm - etched nickel/silver parts. However, they must be measured by the prototype, i.e. ΟΣΕ/CH Bm232 / Bm242 (they have the exactly the same length of the conitnuence of the coupling-pocket, like the WRmüh62 - as they are 26,4m passenger wagons of the ex- Western Germany - DB / Deutsche Bundesbahn).
- Red arrow: coupling-pocket out of cast-brass.
