TRAINOSE CARGO Rilns, Taurpalin Top Wagons leasing

Postby Andreas » Sat Sep 21, 2013 6:58 pm

I think it was 2005 or 2006 that these Rilns 4 axle taurpalin top bogie Wagons appeared in Greece. They were leased from AAE but I dont know how many. Maybe somebody can tell us that together with their whearbouts...are they still in Greece?

On Rilns in Rentis in 2007. The photo is from Gbidis and I hope he is not mad at me that I use it here.

I liked the Wagon so I looked for a proper model. At that time the SBB Rils from Roco (art.nr. 47606) was perfect for the purpose and I designed the decals. People liked it so it went to production of about 70-80 pieces...I dont remember exactly. I made them back in 2007 and it was my first complete repaint project together with developing and printing the decals. 4 Running numbers were made.

3546 042-2
3546 014-1
3546 024-0
3546 049-7

The last one had on its Lettering also a small box with "Hbf Thessaloniki" written on....

Here the production....

And on of the finished models in the proper environment. I cant remember who sho the picture but I think it was my friend Gregory Karathanassis.

There were 50 of them, 31 73 354 6 000-049.

All of them left Greece except of two which were destroyed on accidents and still exist at Lachanokipi.

Hello.

I present the till now upgrade of the bufferplank of the SBB CFF FFS, Rilns, wagon with tarpaulin (Schiebeplanenwagen), that will be converted to greek ΟΣΕ/ΤΡΑΙΝΟΣΕ:

22.09.2013:
1./ Test of the distance between the end of the buffer-plates and the end of the hook of the screw-coupling. According to FREMO: 87 / PROTO: 87 standards, it must be 3.9mm. For the one side is counted exactly 3.9mm, and from the other side 4.1mm, However with this difference of 0.2mm, the coupling was operational and had flexibility in 4.1mm, when I coupled it with i.e. the Ψ3. It wasn't "stiff", so it won't have any problems on curves, i.e. between 1000mm - 3000mm of radius.
2./ Also, you may see the already handmade shunting-handrails (Rangierergriffe). I explain their construction in the post of my Ψ3. Also, I made the holes a little wider, so as to fit them exactly like the prototype, because as you see in the pic, they are only attached temporary, not fitted.
3./ I have tested it with sprung-buffers with plates of sizes: 550mm x 340mm, because I didn't have the type (Ausführung): 450mm x 340mm. These will be bought for the final assembly.
4./ The UIC-steps (Rangierertritte), are already soldered / completed out of etched Nickel/Silver, Rangierertritte UIC-Bauart, 2
superfein geätzt, από ÜDO BOHNLEIN, Art. Nr.: 530 16 34010), and they are fitted temporary.
5./ The rolling on the tracks with wheels: PROTO: 87 / FREMO: 87 (from WEIMANN, Art. Nr.: 591 18 11392 S24.7, wheel-diameter: 10,57mm (1: 87) = 920mm (prototype) - this diameter is exaclty used in every type of the freight-bogies: Y25, http://www.drehgestelle.de/6/y25_t.html) on the bogies: Υ25 of ROCO, is excellent and smooth. They are more flexible bogies from the "heavy" ones with leaf-springs: MINDEN/SIEGEN of ROCO, i.e. Taems890 DB A.G. In the last mentioned freight wagon, I will use Υ25 ones according to the prototype, or I will "open" them a little - just for the wheels to be flexible on any irregullarity of the track-interface  , but I believe that the Υ25 ones are the exact for the DB A.G. Taems890. The DB version has the heavy ones (last pic of the prortotype).

06.10.2013:
1. Assembly of already soldered / completed Brake-releaser / Lösezüge, WEINERT MODELLBAU.

2. Assembly of hooks underneath the coupling-hook, for the protection of the rest parts of the buffer-plank during movement of train, according to the prototype. Already cast bended hook out of 0,3mm - brass-wire was used, which was soldered at each one end with 0,3mm - brass-wire (WEINERT MODELLBAU), so as to be as to be fitted underneath the couplinmg-hook with super-glue.

3. Hand-painting of the assembled hook and brake-releaser.

It also needs:

1./ Screw-couplings from WEIMANN, Art. Nr.: 5091811022.
2./ High-powered buffers (Hochleistungspuffer) with buffer-plate - sixe: 450mm x 340mm, from WEIMANN, Art. Nr.: 507 18 21801.
3./ Airbrake hoses from WEINERT, Art. Nr.: 8293, not assembled yet. They will be assembled after the assembly of the screw-couplings. I ALREADY HAVE THEM
4./ Connection of the existing airbrake-system with the airbrake-hoses with 0,5mn - brass-wires, like I did in the, i.e. Ψ3 ΟΣΕ/CH, Eaos 106 DB, SNCF TA60.
5./ Change of the decals of the SBB CFF FFS, with ΟΣΕ/ΤΡΑΙΝΟΣΕ.

With more progress, I will post more pics.

Thanx

Dimitris

P.S. I also want to add that the "backs" above the buffer-plank are differnet than the prototype, but that is OK with me.

Hello.

Rilns - initials:
R Drehgestell-Flachwagen in Regelbauart
i bewegliches Planenverdeck
l ohne Rungen
n Lastgrenze über 60 t
s Höchstgeschwindigkeit 100 km/h

Regelbauart: Normal type freight wagons by UIC, i.e. E, G, R, K, R.
Sonderbauart: Specific type freight wagons by UIC, i.e. F, H, I, L, S.
http://dybas.de/dybas/gw/gw_gattungen.html

NON-OPERATIONAL PARTS - READY:

1./Verbindungsgestänge [levers that connect via rods the main levers] (UDO BÖHNLEIN HO) out of etched nickel/Silver
2./ 0,3mm - brass wires (rods) for the main levers (Umstellvorrichtung):

3./ Airbrake-hoses [Bremssläuche] (WEINERT HO) out of cast brass
4./ UIC-steps [Rangierertritte] (UDO BÖHNLEIN HO) out of etched nickel/Silver
5./ Shunting handrails [Rangierergriffe] (handmade by 0,3mm - brass wire)
6./ Continuence of the hoses to the existing brake-system - out of 0,5mm - brass wire:

OPERATIONAL PARTS - READY:

1./ BUFFERPLANK [PUFFERBOHLE]:
a./ Screw-couplers [Schraubenkupplung] (WEIMANN HO) out of brass
b./ High-power buffers [Hochleistungspuffer] with size 340x450mm (WEIMANN HO) out of brass
c./ Buffer-backs [Spannplatte] with 4 screws (WEIMANN HO) out of cast-brass + 0,3mm - hook under the coupling-hook - out of 0,3mm cast brass-wire - soldered to 0,3mm brass wire and then super-glued:
Image
Image
Image
The couplers are tested and measured exactly 3,9mm - the distance between the end of the bufferplate to the end of the coupling-hook, such as the buffers touch each other and not press each other, therefore negotiating curves/bends of 1000mm-minimum very easily, according to P87 standards. I mention some more about it on the German railways section on the European and World trains, page 3. viewtopic.php?f=4&t=29&start=20
Image

2./ P87 wheelsets [Radsätze] (WEIMANN HO), Type: BA88/72 (construction-year after 1972), 920mm = 10,57mm in HO. Weren't installed yet, as I have to buy them on the next order  :

The parts are not unpainted yet. They will be until the end of this week.

The tarpaulin [Scheibeplane] is removed as to be painted by airbrush - stone grey (thanx Andreas), and then the decals to be put (thanx Andreas). However, next year I will buy the airbrush, as now I am concentrating on completing the rolling-stock.

Thanx

Hello.

The parts are now 100% painted.
NOTE 1: I have painted the buffers brown as per prototype.
NOTE 2: As you see from the pics, by accident, I have burnt with the solder, one of the side-anchors (Seilanker). However, it may be replaced from a WEINERT one, with some modifications on the back of it.

Two more unlucky ones .... still left in Greece after getting destroyed in some accident ... withdrawn at Nea Filadelfia .

On the other hand they made me lucky, to find that they were built by VAGONKA POPRAD - STATNY PODNIK, POPRAD, CZECHOSLOVAKIA, 1991 & 1992.
