Abandoned now railway station of Agios Dionysios of Piraeus, 29.12.2013.

Repeat-details: 40 73 627 5049-6

Imagemanufacturer
Imagebufferplank - details
Imagechassis-beams and screw-coupling rod - details. Rod is continues till the other side of the wagon connected to the other hook. In the middle, the rod has a system of springs that are pressed, when coupled. In freight wagons, the springs of the buffers are stiffer than the springs of the couplings, whereas in passenger wagons, the opposite exists. Coupling-rod must be stiffer for passsengers.

As the part - Federbund (purple arrows) is concerned, the lower part of it is attached to the upper-part of the axle-box by a small-rod, as the latter has a hole to fit. For a correct model, the wheels are of this type for the American/European freight wagons: http://www.wagenwerk.de/h0de/fahrzeugba ... 77-mm.html

Finally, I have made some measurements on the buffer-planks and the Wheel-dia., but they are not completed, because I forgot to take a measurement on the buffer-length from the plank. I'll give the ones I have now, and next time, I will scan the measurements, I wrote on a Paper, and post them here. These are the following:

1./ Buffer-dia.: 380mm = 4,368mm in HO
2./ Wheel-dia.: 912mm. However, this diameter is not correct as it's counted torn (wear & tear), as on 2-axled cars, there are 2 different diameters: 1000mm (= 11,494mm in HO) for short 2-axled cars,i.e. Z2 / Ggs, Ψ2, Ψ1, Σ1, and 920mm (= 10,57mm in HO) long 2-axled cars, i.e. Ψ3, Ζ5, Ζ3, according to UIC.
3./ Shunting-handrails below buffers:
L1 / Handrail-dia. = 20mm =0,230mm in HO
L2 (yellow arrows) = 265mm = 3,046mm in HO
L3 (green arrows) = 372mm = 4,276mm in HO
Image

I give this measurements and pics, if you all decide to construct a wagon like that in HO. I will make more pics tomorrow, and the last measurement mentioned. I can take the wagon-length and other measurements.

Thanx

Best wishes for 2014

Dimitris

Dimitris, excellent detail photos but it will take a brave man to model this wagon correctly, with discharge chutes, brake gear etc.

Yes, Christo, I agree as well.

Technical drawings are the best, for modelling a wagon like that from scratch.

:(

Also excellent effort / construction for the OSE N7 Rgmms Flatbeds East German-built 1990. It looks perfect to me.

@Christo:

Hello.

About the brake-system: is exactly that, made by etched nickel/silver and cast brass parts by UDO BÖHNLEIN. The type is HILDEBRAND KNORR 1931 (HiK GP / Güterwagen / Personenwagen).

As you see from the pics, the nickel/silver parts contain the balancers (Bremshebel), the connection of the levers (empty/full) [Verbindungsgestänge + Umstellcorricthung] and the latter as well. As the brass cast brass parts are concerned, they contain mainly the air-cylinder (Bremszylinder), the distributor (Steuerventil) the air-resevoir (Luftbehälte) + the aid air-resrvoir (if needed). However, the latter is not needed for Σ1, as it has one air-reservoir.

The buffers of this wagon are of the type: Uerdigen, with length; 612,5mm (measured) = 7,040mm in HO + bufferplate-dia.: 380mm (measured) = 4,368mm in HO. However, the Uerdigen was constructed with 650mm length and dia. of 370mm and 450mm, but other lengths and dia. existed on this type, too. It was also constructed with 2 different buffer-plates, either riveted bufferplates (genietete Pufferteller) / and or welded bufferplates (geschweißte Pufferteller), as well as with flat buffer-"tubes" or with "wave"-angles.

Measurements of the buffer-plank (buffer - length & dia., Wheel-dia.)
Image

I'll try next time to make some measuremtns on the following, i.e.: perpenducular-beams of the suppports of the silos, the silos, the devices that throw the ballast on the tracks, as well as the total length of the wagon, the width of the buffer-beam, and the height of wagon measured from the middle of the buffer-plate to the Top-of-rail. Hopefully....
