From Facebook's Greek Narrow Gauge Railways group, Nestor Lappas, posted some pictures from an article by the prestigious french 'La vie du rail' under the title L'Hellade. No idea when publishing was done.

Here are some pictures of some unidentified ilatian AA11-27 FIAT DMUs some with trailers and others not.

They look not so used as late pictures we saw on forum, nearly useful as BarbaP waited italian speaking

An easy way to find which is a 1950 or a 1958 one is to see the lights on the top.1950 DMUs have one light.1958 DMUs have two.

Actually there are more visible elements allowing to distinguish between the two...
- Railcars of the first batch have the distinctive 'hump' (the ''καρούμπαλο") in the middle of the powered unit.
- Railcars of the second batch had rounded-corner windows on the front intercommunicating doors, while those of the first had square...
- Furthermore, those of the second batch had double exhausts on the roof
- Another visible difference is the doors; 1954 units had ordinary, solid doors, while the 1958 units had 'accordeon' doors...

Okay.But the lights are the most recognisable difference.Moreover, 1958 units had automatic doors.And I thing that there are no working Fiats today....

One unit of the first batch has been preserved in a reasonably good condition.
As far as I know, one more unit of the 1958 batch is marked for preservation, but to my knowledge, no restoration work has been done.
Perhaps one of our Thessaloniki-based friends can provide more info on this.

As I saw in a picture in page three, the preserved unit is a 1958 one but there must be at least one 1950 unit in repairable condition.As for the trailers, I think that only one can be repaired and it is from 1958.
