The loco have the old gearbox but one flywheel
and with (ESU decoder) runs the loco good.
Andy, Christo, Panagiotis and Jonmood, is the loco having a smooth motion, like TENSHODO-motors, MASHIMA-motors, FAULHABER-motors, when running on d.c. - analogue, too? Or not? Meaning that it has frequent stops.. I want to know for sure, as it would be definetely in my layout. I know it has a BUHLER-motor as I read in previous posts in this topic.
I don't have yet a D.C.C. (decoder, sound-decoder, D.C.C.-transformer), but I will make my layout like that. However, I only care about the ESU decoders (both D.C.C. & Sound-decoders) as they can work either in analogue/ and or in digital, I think...An example is FULGUREX that does that to its NEW models, so they are not D.C.C. ready, but D.C.C. complete with ESU decoders.
1./ When I mean to run both on D.C. & D.C.C., I mean that the locomotive to be able to run on D.C. (analogue) with my old LIMA analogue transformer (as I don't have a D.C.C. yet, and I am willing to buy a D.C.C & Sound-Decoders for my locos + D.C.C. controller/station), although it hasn't (D.C.C. ready) / or has both the D.C.C. and Sound-Decoder inside it (D.C.C. complete). DIGITRAX and ESU do that.
2./ I know very well that DIGITRAX, is excellent, but as it will be the first time I will use D.D.C. in my life (till now I used only my old LIMA (1983) anlogue-transformer from starter-set: min. voltage: 5Volts - I have 2 of them), is it better to use ESU, or DIGITRAX? Do you recon also to try ZIMO or TAMS, too? Or concentrate on either ESU or DIGITRAX? I think the latter (ESU or DIGITRAX) are the best.
3./ Does it worth it to buy this model? Cause as you say it runs smooth with ESU Lokpilot 4.0.
4./ However, the springs of the primary-syspension, are in 45 degrees, not as our prototype that are vertically, but that doesn't matter to me, as it's very pretty model. I like it!
5./ I really want to be sure what to use, either DIGITRAX, or ESU, for not making any problems to the whole layout.
