Hello,

here is a model of a CFR AcBcmee series 40-70. The cars which came to Greece were series 40-31, but as far as I understood, the only difference are the bogies. The 40-70s have MD36 bogies for Vmax=160, the 40-31 were equipped by CFR with Görlitz V bogies for Vmax=140, which seems to be enough for domestic trains in Romania as well as for travelling in the balcans...The origin of both CFR series is DB type Bctm256, built 1967-1970, later Boctm257, even later Bocmh244. CFR bought in 2006 about half of all cars of this type. By the way, does anybody know a railway company in the Balkan area which did NOT buy second-hand cars from DB?
Pictures by Florin Vornicu, posted with his kind permission.

All the best,
Stefan

Hello Panagiotis,
thank you for your appreciation.
It's something in between ;) A conversion of LS 46077 made on demand by one of the most skilful modelers in Romania.

Regards,
Stefan

Panagiotis;
this years has Tillig not WLABm coaches under News
(and the BDZ WLABm model is a Project from Memoba)

Tillig has only this CFR model in program with old CFR logo
(number 74778)

I'm thrilled with this model :D
Thanks to Stefan who got the base model (LS 46077), ordered the right boggies, made the arrangements for the conversion, collected it from Romania and posted it to me :!: :D

One more picture of the blue CFR "Y" WLAB with the new logo, taken by me at Bucharest Nord in Aug. 1999:

Here the model, a private conversion from Romania, as neither Tillig nor Roco have made this version yet:

A great conversion Stefan! My compliments to fellow Romanian modelers!
Now you can model the 2002 Budapest - Thessaloníki Night Train!
