Photo Balkanmodels: Spring 1984. Unidentified single car AA in Line 5 at NES Thessaloniki. The electricity masts are not yet there.

Photo Balkanmodels: April 1995, eleven years later. AA85 retired, but still in good condition, between Engine Shed and Carriage Shed Thessaloniki. Its revenue days are over. It is coupled next to an older 1950 Fiat AA. Behind it is a Sekgss-v car carrier.

Hi Everyone,

To follow my favourite tradition of adding anecdots, it was common practice in the late 60s and early 70s to see a Ferrostaal trailer added to the Athens-Thessaloniki daytime passenger consists; this trailer was detached in Larissa and continued to Volos, most of the times behind an A200 or a V60 (!!!)

I can also recall having seen a number of times a Ferrostaal trailer (or even a dead motor unit) behind a V60 doing Athens-Khalkis; difficult to say if this was a standard or exceptional composition, but it is well in line with the standard practice of the Peloponnese network of using Mitsubishi (usually with one engine running...) + Ferrostaal trailer for local services (e.g. Olympia).
