Not only greasy but in some parts inside the shed there were metal shavings from turning wheels ( I suppose) which played havoc to my flip flops.

A506 with a load of tank wagons at Strimonas 1/4/2011.
We all know what this "gate" at the foreground is for, I don't know how it is called in Greek or English either...

The raylway term for that 'gate' is loading gauge for the rolling stock. My greek is so unexistant, so I can't help you, BarbaP

As completely correct Adelardo said, Barbapanagos, the "gate" u said, is called "loading-gauge" = περιτύπωμα (peritipoma) in Greek.
