As seen in recent news, Facebook and forums, the new TrenItalia operation has brought a EMU Pendolino ΕΤR 485 31 to test posibilities in a test run from Tessalonica to Athens?

Not much information in English, so tell me what happened...??

Did they tried the stock and they could not make better times?

We can talk about conversion of the basis italian model, is an affordable model, just painting and decals. Many railways have stock that run once and make a 'colour note' in our layouts.

Hello to all,

in a test run from Tessalonica to Athens?

The test run was between Salonica and Katerini. The max speed was 213 km/h. Some videos have already been uploaded on YouTube. The train, as far as I know is going to be transported back to Italy. Let's see what will come when the line between Athens and Salonica is electricified...

So, what's the test run made for? just publicity?
No sense in a non electrified line, no sense a test run in diferent phases...
