I found Stefan's (R-460) idea for such a topic really great, the Intermodal Rail transport has replaced many different types of wagons, Vans, Refrigerators etc, that deserves a separate topic.

so let's start...
when I first met those new deep-well flat cars I wished there was a model available

Image

the only models that a I have found are those of the Rocky-Rail range http://rocky-rail.com/
but they are all in the gray AAE livery

and now the good news 8-)

as Andreas said, all we need is a good excuse

and a set of GARTNER decals, maybe :P

Thanks Christo about this photo, it helps to determine the period that all those Logistics Companies were opperational

Image

those containers should have been a common sight till the late 90's.
Although the P&O (Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Company - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peninsular ... on_Company) still exists as a Maritime Company, the P&O Group (P&O Containers) was in 1997 merged with the Dutch transportation company Royal Nedlloyd forming P&O Nedlloyd http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/P%26O_Nedlloyd
Later in 2005 they were bought and absorbed by A.P. Moller-Maersk Group (Maersk) of Denmark http://www.maersk.com/en

I think such info is useful to correctly model our intermodal ''traffic'' ;)

that's what friends are for!!! :D

Hobbies are meant to make life better and they certainly do...
Though there are times that we don't feel like dealing with them, everyday life and problems eliminate our free time...
But sooner or later we go back, a spark is only needed to light the fire again ;)

I have received a present from a friend today. A very special model that I wasn't aware that it existed, actually I didn't know the manufacturer either!!!
When I opened the box I knew I had it photographed at Inoi!

Thanks Stefan, I just love it!!!

Panagiotis, you are always welcome!
I knew your photo of the original :)
I'm not sure, but it seems that the first producer was Hobbytrade, and now the models are distributed by Ade.
There were other versions, e.g. DSB or AAE.

All the best,
Stefan
