Dear fellow modellers,

With great sadness I would like to inform you about the passing of our fellow modellers and train enthusiast Dimitris Koffas. He died yesterday morning, 17th of July 2024 after a short illness at the age of 60. I am deeply saddened as I knew Dimitri for 22 years now, not only virtually but we were friends and we met up a lot during my time living in Germany... We lived only about 20km apart and with our dear friend Thomas Grasmück we undertook a lot of train activities and just talking about trains. He was a person always with a smile on his face and always there to help you... He will be very deeply missed and everything that I would say right now is just not enough....

Yes, it is very sad.
Dimitri was always a courteous, polite and helpful person.
Always with a smile and a positive thinker. We will miss him.
Our community is now poorer without a good friend.
Rest in peace my friend.

I agree with you!

I met Dimitris a year ago and I felt that I had an honorable and giving person in front of me. Yesterday I felt the need to start from Larissa and go to Pyli Trikalon to say goodbye to this friend at his funeral. I was impressed with the people who were present and thus confirmed my thoughts that Dimitris was indeed a dear person.

May his memory live forever!

We are losing a helpful and friendly person with whom I enjoyed being together. I have fond memories of our meetings where we discussed the railroad situation in Greece, both in reality and in the model, and dreamed of better times. The special railroad trips we made - unfortunately never in Greece - were always very nice and everyone who took part in them has fond memories of them.
Now Dimitrios is no longer with us. I already miss him and the Greek railroad scene is missing a committed fellow campaigner.
My thoughts are with his family and I wish them much strength in this difficult time.

Hello, dear forum colleagues.
It's been exactly one year to the day since Dimitri Koffas passed away and began his journey into the light.
We have lost a good friend from our circle.

A person is only truly dead when he is no longer remembered.
(Berthold Brecht)

We remember him with great gratitude.
