Built probably in the 1890s, by S.A. MABILLE MARIEMONT BELGIQUE for ΣΒΔΕ, initially one of the two ΣΒΔΕ cranes ( numbers 1-2 ), after WW II the only survivor as Γ 291.

could it be possible to identify any of these old ΣΠΑΠ wagons?

All of them were Belgian built (between 1890 and 1910). On the left, all of them are "Θ"s, none of which exists now. The SPAP "Θ" was indicating what we know now as "I" (in Greek), for example I7, or what we know as "E" according to UIC (for example Eaos).


The one on the right of the photo is a Ι.. The letter "I" for SPAP indicated what we call now as "M" (in Greek), which means wagon with very low sides.



NOTE: Before WW II , SPAP did NOT have ane flatbeds (without sides), what we know as "N". The closest to a flatbed were these "I"s. That's why, the letter N, was given to the "Z"s built after 1910. SPAP also had the "K"s, which were very small flatbeds, with two sticks and a chain in their middle. They were used in pairs, and carried Trees (κορμούς --> Κορμοφόρον --> "Κ" ).

Isn't also one in Rouf?

The one at Rouf, moved there from Agii Anargyri, is an ex- SPAP hand crane, not SVDE.

As far as I know they were built before 1900 and they were replaced after the war with the Italian ones.We should open a topic about that.

Where was the photo taken?Are the wagons still there?
