10 flatbeds buitl in 1966 by FABRYKA SINSKIH VOZILA SUBOTICA, BRATSTVO - JUGOSLAVIJA.

Initial numbers MΣΠ 84001-84010.

Later, when the original American tank cars (Ρ16 80-89) were withdrawn, their tanks were removed ...

They were reclassified to Ρ16 84001-84010 and later Ρ16 65041-65050.

All of them still exist except 65049 which was stolen - scrapped between Kardiakafi and Vartholomio in spring / summer 2011.

P.S.: Some other source says that some of them had different tanks built by ΜΗΧΑΝΟΥΡΓΕΙΟΝ ΑΧΙΛΛΕΑ ΚΟΥΠΠΑ, ΠΕΙΡΑΙΕΥΣ, but i haven't seen any proofs.

thanks Jason, I knew the P16 were built in Greece but I didn't know they were actually assembled from ''recycled'' older rolling stock parts

It's very disappointing watching all that valuable rolling stock rusting, though I was glad to meet 65044 again after 11 years...

Hi all,

Can anybody help me with the diameter of the tank?
I want to construct them as a 3D model and the size would be helpful!

Hi FR,
sorry, I don't know the answer but till someone comes with it here are some tricks to start.

Make a your own drawing in 1/87 as better as you can, using the drawing and dimensions of the first photo in the topic.
Use an appropriate photo to make an estimation of the unknown parts ;)

Ρ16 65044, Kalamata station 8 May 2004β c.JPG

knowing the frame side height from the drawing you can make a close estimation of the tank height
the same applies comparing the wagon and tank length or every other part.

Keep in mind though that at the photos there are lens distortions so stick to the scale drawing measurements.
At the photos we use the relation between "measurements". For example we count how many times higher is the tank compared to the frame side, then multiple that number with the frame measurement from the scale drawing

I hope that was helpful

And keep in mind that at the end it is right when it looks right

Hi FR,
Yes you are right, this is a possible way ti interpolate it! Thanks.
But I had the hope that anybody of you already got a model of it.

I calculate the diameter to 1736mm. In H0 should it be 19,95mm. Therefore I will take a electrical evylon pipe for the shape.

A 20mm tube would do. Let us know about your progress ;)
