These were the only original Thessalian Railways meter gauge passenger carriages, built by LA METALLURGIQUE - S.A. DE CONSTRUCTION ATELIERS DE NIVELLES (BELGIQUE) in 1883-1885. Classes :

--> ΑΑτ 1 & 2 (Royal and Administration carriages)
--> ΑΒτ 21-32
--> Βτ 101-136
--> ΒτΜ 151-158.

One strange thing to note about them is that some of them with random numberings had different window arrangement, having 3 bigger windows instead of the "normal" 4 smaller windows.

A small numbers of them were transported to the Peloponnese network to be used as storage rooms during track maintenance, while an Italian Z12 boxcar was converted with two buffers on the one side, to connect those with any other Peloponnesian vehicle.

Some more of them were again transported from Thessaly to be stored at the Kalamata's Railway park (the ones at christo's photos).

Fortunately, there are still some withdrawn at the Thessalian line, but in terrible condition...

As i wrote, ΑΑτ 1 (the blue one) is the royal carriage (for the king) and ΑΑτ 2 (the green one) was the "Όχημα διοικήσεως" (something like the Administration's carriage).

Good afternoon.

Have you noticed in those B&W pictures with people into coaches that in those pictures, coaches has some kind of logo in the middle of the sides, as a logo that had been removed or painted?

regards

Of course , it's the ΣΕΚ logo ..

Here you can see the remainings of one which was painted over.
