Not knowing much about these carriages, I am not able to give a more precise title to this topic.

I guess that the carriages are built in the former GDR. I wish I had taken a picture of the wagon at the rear of the train, but of course I did not  .

I guess that the carriage on the left and that on the right are built in the former GDR. The carriage in the centre appears to be of Romanian origin. This is just guesswork based on some of the components such as the windows. I may be mistaken.

Hi Pierre, it's realy nice having you with us

the one in the middle I think it is a Romanian built by ARAD, some of them had a bar too but I can't identify them.
let's wait for the experts to tell us more.

The ones you suppose that are built in the G.D.R., (you are right) are built by VEB WAGGONBAU AMMENDORF in 1967, series:

 Βφπτ 841-865 (B class)
 ΑΒφπτ 661-670 (A and B class)
 ΒΚφπτ 691-695 (B class - bar)
 Δφπτ 1801-1805 (luggage coaches)
 Εφπτ 901-905 (post coaches)

So I change the title of the topic according to the German ones, and we open a new topic for the Romanian ... ;) ;)

I am planning to model all 5 types of this East German carriage in HOm. I have a number of questions though:
Is there an outside visual difference between the Δφπτ 1801-1805 (luggage coaches) and the Εφπτ 901-905 (post coaches)?

christo.

PS. I hope Jason is listening ;)

I don't think that there are any outside differences except that the post coaches have one more window on each side...

Εφπτ 903 at Megalopolis, during one of the excursions she took part...

Same side, with Δφπτ 1801 (actually with its 'new' UIC-like number 40 73 940 18 01), at Korinth. Note the extra safety metal barrier on the doors, added for the excursions.

From the other side, Εφπτ 902 at Tripolis

and again 1801 at Tripolis
