Funny,

last year I went to the SLM archive in Winterthur and I doug out the contracts and the specification dossiers for these maschines (6 that were build in Switzerland). I also found about 130 drawings for these locomotives that show them in every detail. I only copied the General arrangement. With the guy there in the archive we were wondering why on earth all the drawings for the locomotive were there but none from the tender....well...tonight I found out why. Actually only the locos were built by SLM and the tenders were built by Dyle in Belgium...... I dont know why but it can be seen from the works photo also.

More details in the future. I will make these data accesible I just need to be careful as I have purchased the photos, documents and drawing (for a 3 digit sum of money :( ) as a private person and I dont have a publication license.

Cheers
Andreas

Kilom. 217,550 Viaduc après Mouretli 3 x 20 mètres

I have no idea where Mouretli is. More than likely the name has changed. There's a bridge sort of in the same style in Xanthi / Ξάνθη, but longer. There is a shorter bridge at 41.180523, 24.706130, east of Xanthi and just south of Stavroupoli / Σταυρούπολη, which might be it, providing the 'Kilom. 217,550' is counted from Thessaloniki :

Bonjour Pierre,

Thank you for the pic you posted; here's some additional information that I hope will facilitate your researches!

- According to the Royal Edict of 1926, all turkish locality names in Western Thrace (that is, practically all names!) were changed into Greek. In the list published with the edict we read that Mouretli or Mouratli in the province that later became Xanthi was renamed into Skopos, which is the name the village still carries to this day.

- The kilometric indication should probably not be taken with respect to a point 0 in Thessaloniki; the picture was presumably taken during the Ottoman empire, without a precise date, and it is not certain that by that date the JSC had already been granted the access to Thessaloniki using their own line. In those uncertain days, the CO (Chemins de fer orientaux) had the monopoly of access to Thessaloniki and JSC were obliged to pay 'trackage rights'.

So, in order to locate the bridge, it would seem reasonable to make point 0 as the nowadays Gallikos station, where the line originally ended. Or else, consider also that the line has been relocated since those days in numerous locations (Lake Dojran, Poroja-Vyroneia, Nea Zikhni (Zhelyakhova) and Myrrini), so the kilometric indication is certainly not applicable in today's rail layout.

Hope this helps! I will make my own search and post if I come up with something.
Reds,
Joseph (Iossif)
