Restarting International Linking Traffic 2014

We have happy news for all railway lovers, specially those interested in Balkan traffic. Greek govervement has anounced the re starting of international traffic in Greece.

Reopening International connections in Greek Railways

Trains , bound for Belgrade and Sofia, start circulating May 10th
Starting next May 10th, they will start circulating links from Thessaloniki to Belgrade and Sofia. From Thessaloniki will be possible to link to a service bound to Athens.

The crisis in Greece produced its railways canceled all its international passenger trains in 2011 . Since then, his state operator, Trainose, has gone through a major reorganization which can lead to the privatization of the company, for which already have some offers.

The resumption of international routes , especially in summer season , has been much in demand by tourists and young people who do the Interrail , eager to reach the Greek country for beautiful railway routes linking it to the surrounding countries.

Now the news is official and has announced two international connections from Thessaloniki: towards Belgrade, with important intermediate stop in Skopje , and another with Sofia .

The schedule will be as follows ( local time ) :

- Thessaloniki (6:55 ) - Sofia (14:00 )
- Sofia ( 15:20) - Thessaloniki ( 22:20)

In Thessaloniki will be connected to 23 hours with an express to Athens.

- Thessaloniki (16:00 ) - Skopje (17:00 ) - Belgado (0500 )
- Belgrade (18:45 ) - Skopje (0500 ) - Thessaloniki ( 11:17)

Prices advertised are popular to encourage the use of these trains . Between May 10 and June 10 will save 30 percent. A single ticket between Thessaloniki and Skopje will be about 12.20 euros and full ride to Belgrade 32 euros . The return ticket was 51.30 euros, cheaper than the same trip by international bus. For route Sofia tickets will be priced at 17.80 euros and 34.60 return.

Trains offer 130 seated and sleeping tickets, offered those sleeping tickets by Serbian Railways en route to Belgrade and Bulgarian Railways in Sofia. Trainose , meanwhile , include in summer a car transporter in summer between Belgrade and Athens with a cost of fifty euros per vehicle .

as I have learned asking around, at the order we see them at the photos, were a Bclm and a Αm from FYROM and a ΑΒm of the ZS
