OSE Yards & Shunting Operations

Postby BarbaPanagos » Tue Jan 21, 2014 2:12 pm

an afternoon at Rouf, 17/1/2014 4:25 - 4:49 pm - part1

Just about I was shooting the 31 73 3917 015-9, A466 appeared coming from Agios Ioannis at 4:29. She backed towards the N6, brought it at the descending track.
Then going around through the ascending line, coupled again and left the scene heading again towards Agios Ioannis at 4:47.
The quality of the photos isn't that good as I had only the compact with me.

After a problem 9101 had on the excrursion train with the English railfans, 9105 is preparing to take the lead at Tripoli's Triangle .

Shunting on the first days of September 2012 at Korinthos old station in order to transport the newer freight cars to Tripoli and leave the rest die there. This station was a huge immigrant hotel (/dump) so the tones of rubbish can be seen.

The station and cars are being emptied and all usefull stock is being transported.

I see there were also people voluntarily contributing

thanks Jason, it's sad seeing the end of a network that faithfully served for more than a century...
let's hope for the better days, or at least this great station building (one of my favorites), will find some proper use.

What tear provoking photos, Jason! It maybe a rebirth for that part of the network (with a lot of concrete) but it is still the end of an era. Simple life, uncomplicated memories, and happy journeys.

A morning at Inoi station, 28/6/2013 - part2

on the 4th line, the personnel uncouples them from the loco

220 027, shunting at Inoi 2013-06-28 09.JPG

about 8:50, while I am at the other side of the station shooting the passenger trains, the 027 leaves towards some of the north side lines and returns bringing some more freight to line six

220 027, shunting at Inoi 2013-06-28 10.JPG

leaving the second wagon there, she brings the Habills to line 4 and couples it to the other two...

220 027, shunting at Inoi 2013-06-28 11.JPG

and then brings all three of them to the 6th line

the first one is uncoupled from the others and brought to line 5 to get the SZ Habbins
