Photo Balkanmodels: November 1989 a panoramic shot of the Engine Shed Thessaloniki. I can recognise 12 units of motive power and/or of rolling stock. :D Ah the good old days.

BM CG MTH Apr90.jpg

Photo Balkanmodels: April 1990. In contrast the Engine Shed Thessaloniki bereft of motive power. Photo taken aboard a FIAT returning from Katerini.

BM CG Tempi Apr93.jpg

Photo Balkanmodels: April 1993. Tempi station from a stopping train en route to Athens. A.555 at the head and though it recorded some heroic thrashings, it averaged just over 30m/h with a long string of carriages and stopping in places I never knew existed :D

Photo Balkanmodels: April 1993. A derelict station near Nea Magnesia Thessaloniki. I am afraid I have no notes on its exact location. Only Jason can help us  .

BM CG GEF Apr93e.jpg

Photo Balkanmodels: April 1993. Gefyra station is behind us and we are looking towards Salonica. The Highway Thessaloniki Edessa is visible in the background with articulated lorry passing by. The junction of this highway with the one that is going up to the Greek borders is (off picture) just to the left.

BM CG GEF Apr93f.jpg

Photo Balkanmodels: April 1993. Looking the other way now, towards Gefyra station. Make shift car port next to the gate keepers house (off picture) to the left and the very typical water tower. It seems that a lot of them were built to the same design. Maybe even prefabricated. I would have called upon Jason again but :( it seems that he is busy of late.
