And the place I love the most. The Engine Shed, a rail-fan's and modeler's Fun Park :D

Barba, thank you for sharing the current situation. Are this works the modernisation of the station only or/and the rebuild of the line?
All the wonderful old Wagons are disappeared

Thanks Johannes, I'm glad you like them.
I'm not sure if only the tracks are being replaced or if some platforms and other additions are planed.
Let's wait for the others, Jason maybe?

About the old wagons, some of them are squeezed at the lines that are at the Station side and others behind the woods.
I didn't have time to go closer, but I have some photos to post later.

Adtranz, MLW, Faur and five Ganz DMUs  . Heaven indeed. Is that a Siemens electric at the back of the shed?

But, for completing the Heaven, there is no ALCO

Because the employees, i did not walking trough, but walking around. At the other side of the shed, there was no electric locomotive. This seems a passenger carriage.

Well they are not railway buildings but they were financed and built by Baron Hirsch who was associated with Railway financing and construction amongst other works.

Photo Balkanmodels: October 2014. The back end of what was known as the Hirsch hospital in Thessaloniki. It is now called Ippokrateio. Though sad places these hospitals, one can admire the typical neo classical architectural features.

Photo Balkanmodels: October 2014. The front end (with possible modern additions) of the hospital. It is also possible that this was once the back end of it.

Photo Balkanmodels: November 1989 a panoramic shot of the Engine Shed Thessaloniki. I can recognise 12 units of motive power and/or of rolling stock. :D Ah the good old days.
