Hellas-Express

Another class of (sadly) withdrawn fridge vans is the Ψ2, built by VEB Waggonbau Dessau and DWM. Let's start with the first batch of 200 VEB wagons, built in two lots in 1962:

803 6 000-149, Ibes, previously Ibcers (803 4) 801 7 000-149, SEK Ψπ 20651-20800, no brake hut.
803 6 150-199, Ibes-v, previously Ibcers-v (803 4) 801 7 150-199, SEK Ψπτ 20851-20900, built with brake hut.

No doubt Jason can enlarge on my information!

A couple more from the same series, apparently in non-railway use, marked for the Greek Scouts organisation and un-numbered, both at Athens Rentis in late 2005.

Tim, these two are not of the same series... They are Ψ1 01 73 844 6 318-2 and 01 73 844 6 230-9.

OOOPS! OK, if you start a thread on the Ψ1 series then I'll transfer the photos across. I was trying to identify them by that disc on the door, and it was not on the only Ψ1 that I have a photos of, but was on the Ψ2s.

Photo Balkanodels: April 1994 at PES Thessaloniki. A pair of Ψ2 fridge wagons in front of the SOM engine shed. The first wagon is with break cabin, just visible at the far end. The second one is probably without.
