Note the other Hellenic Shipyards built coaches at the background. They were also "upgraded" during that project.

Christo, just a question, now you are in a 'production period'

I know you still have in stock those OSE VEB 5173 2080 631-653 Bm & 5173 3980 071-082 ABm carriages with new logo, but, due to the hihg demand on those red sleeping cars, have you consider in making a new batch of them with new logo?

I hope 150 unit could be easyly sold...

(Sorry, I don't want to get into your personal economic situation involved with the creation of a new model)

regards

BalkanE,

I had considered it but decided against it. Tillig would not entertain an order from me for anything less than 200 pieces + or - 10% . So we are talking about £7 K which in my situation would be difficult to live without. However, I will start posting here freely ;) all my detailed photos soon, as I did with other subjects for anyone else to pursue such model making venture. Perhaps you my friend :D, since it needs a younger person with a steady income or someone with good connections to a bank.

I am content designing and producing for other friends model trams, battery locos and African Electrics, which though they are not particularly pretty they give me a lot of satisfaction and I do not have to borrow money to see them through. And besides, for each subject I tackled I was given hundreds of photos and plans to work from unlike modelling Greek subjects for which information is very seldom (present company excluded) shared  .

BM CG 51735080 105-9 Nov97.jpg

Photo Balkanmodels: November 1997 at NES Thessaloniki. Bcme carriage 5173 5080 105-9 with curtains closed. This was the prototype of the first of 10 different model carriages I commissioned Sachsenmodelle/Tillig to do over the years.
For the historians, it was not greeted with univershal approval  . A good number of people refused to buy it because they insisted that the roofs should have been painted silver :? , while others refused it on account that the brown curtains should have been modelled also :o .

This was the First ever Greek model passenger carriage.

BM CG 51735080 1xx Sep99a.jpg

Photo Balkanmodels: September 1999 at the Carriage Shed Thessaloniki. An unidentified red sleeper shunting under the pedestrian foot bridge. This was my first serious (and not very successful) attempt to capture some details.
