christo, the Rivarossi model illustrated is not an MU but a T2.

The correct MU model is not available from anyone, but I expect ACME will make it some time in the not so distant future (it's basically ACME references 50570 and 50571 but without the skirt).

Thank you for the correction. I must have put the wrong photo. However I have Rivarossi 3540 and 3539 which are labelled as MU carriages.

Hi guys, Rivarossi has an MU model, here is the OBB #3561, I don't know how accurate it is...

I don't know if all the SNCB MUs had skirts as seen on this Morten Sorensen shot and were removed when received by OSE

the only photo I have ever seen in the OSE scheme is this one that Nondas M. (nondmoyz) had posted at the Amnizia forum

Hi to all members; a question for the coaches speciallists

The first picture in this topic show the MU Belgian couchette in its origin colour (Christo's picture); the last picture, that Nondas M. (nondmoyz) had posted at the Amnizia forum, you can see in the OSE scheme, not knowing other picture in this scheme.

Some questions.

Does the belgian painted MU couchettes run in that colour not just for the arrival to the PES Thessaloniki?

Does all those in OSE scheme were painted at same time or they lived with the belgian original ones?

Tell me about the life of those coaches in the Greek Railways....

BalkanExpress and christo, the livery shown in the first photograph shows Fiat built MU sleeping-cars in their SNCB / NMBS livery following the end of the TEN pool in 1995.

The model of the T2 sleeping-car, second picture down, shows the full TEN livery.

After the end of the TEN pool, many sleeping-cars just had the TEN logo painted out, as on the picture by Morten S. Sørensen, taken in København H / Copenhagen on 4 May 1996 (sleeping-car number unknown, but clearly one of the carriages built in Germany by WMD). Later this transition livery was replaced by the full SNCB / NMBS livery.

Two possibilities : OSE repainted the sleeping-cars which wore the full SNCB / NMBS livery, so that they would match other ex TEN sleeping-cars which OSE also bought, or the OSE sleeping-cars in almost TEN livery did not receive any other livery before they were delivered to Greece, so OSE just kept the livery as delivered to Greece and just added their markings.

One way to prove this either way is by checking each carriage. Most of them are illustrated, with the corresponding number, on http://wagonslits.de/, see Forum, then Album at the top of the page.

Are or were there any OSE MU sleeping-cars in the full SNCB / NMBS livery, but with OSE markings ?

All five of the coaches were built in 1964 by FIAT, and renovated by WL Ostende.

They were bought by OSE in 2005, and arrived at Thessaloniki on September and October, 2005, in the livery shown in Nikos Papaletsos' photo. During the end of 2005 - begining of 2006 passed their first periodical inspections by OSE, at Thessaloniki works, where they were all painted with the new OSE livery, and new numbers 61 73 72-71 301-305.
