These T2 were elaborated around 1968, and then appeared as a architectural summum of ingeniosity to offer the night-comfort at a low-cost.

They were built between 1970 and 1974, 85 for SNCF, 6 for SNCB and 88 for RENFE.

But unfortunately, theses cars were a little sulked by customers, who considered them a little as "rabbit-cages".

At the end of 1990s, they were parked without use, and rafted in 2008. They were not really impacted by the "TGV-effect", who shortened some cars'carreers, as corail or other night carriages....

They have been solded to private owners, as the french "trains-expo":
